Eric is a licensed architect with over 20 years experience designing and consulting on the most innovative, deep green buildings in the country. Before joining the Institute as our Vice President of Global Outreach, he was Founding Principal of organicARCHITECT, a nationally known architecture and consulting firm that helped architects, builders and homeowners use sustainability to improve the design and operational savings for thousands of buildings around the country. Eric is also the author of 11 books, including the bestselling "Green Building & Remodeling for Dummies” and "Green$ense for the Home.” He was a founding board member of the USGBC Inland Empire Chapter and Chair of their Coachella Valley Branch, where he authored the City Sustainability Dashboard, currently used by 9 cities.  Eric was named by San Francisco Magazine "Best Green Architect" in 2005; "Best Visionary" in 2007; and "Green Visionary" by 7x7 Magazine in 2008. In 2012, he was named one of the 25 "Best Green Architecture Firms" in the US, and one of the "Top 10 Most Influential Green Architects.” He graduated with honors from Temple University with a Bachelor of Architecture and holds a Masters in Ecological Design from SFIA.
