Cities that Function Like Forests: An Innovative Approach to Urban Resiliency

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

How can we learn from the genius of our place to design more resilient, restorative communities? New York City after a storm, Chicago after a drought, Seattle after a flood: what if we were able to look at how nature survives disturbance and ask the question - what is resilient here? Using biomimicry methodology, this interactive workshop gives participants the chance to explore natural solutions to urban resilience challenges within a Seattle context and provide tools and best practices for exploring the genius of their place when they return home. Some knowledge of biomimicry will be helpful, although not required.
